Following the webinar, a regional workshop was convened at the Wits School of Education, with representatives from the four countries. The focus was on examining the OER policy landscape, aligning pedagogical approaches, and strengthening institutional readiness.
The findings from the case study report on "Prospects for African teacher educator capacity building for OER pedagogical practices: A case of five teacher education institutions", were shared.
Participants engaged in institutional self-assessment and policy review aimed at identifying gaps and establishing frameworks for openness.
Discussions were framed by the principles of embedding local relevance, and reinforcing peer-to-peer collaboration. This workshop established a shared foundation for subsequent co-creation.
